Julian P. O’Sullivan is a psychologist based in central Melbourne. He provides individual psychotherapy to adults (18+). He is registered with AHPRA. He is a full member of the Australian Psychological Society. He has worked in community based mental health, counselling and psychotherapy for 9 years. This has included roles in crisis and addiction counselling, psychological assessment, general counselling and individual psychotherapy. He has significant experience working with both adolescents and adults. Since early 2020, Julian has been using these skills to help people with psychosocial disability work toward their NDIS goals.
Through his experience as a psychologist and counsellor, Julian has developed expertise in helping people overcome or learn to better manage various forms of psychological distress. These include, amongst others, thought disorders, personality disorders, and mood disorders including PTSD, anxiety, and depressive disorders. Julian is able to assist patients work through workplace stress, motivational problems, trauma, drug and alcohol addiction, anger and emotional dysregulation, life transitions, forensic issues, unemployment, financial stress and management problems, homelessness, relationship difficulties, and family violence. As well, Julian has extensive experience in managing risk of homicide, suicide, self-harm, and child protection issues.
Julian’s psychology practice is located in central Melbourne near South Yarra at Suite 616, 434 St Kilda Rd, Melbourne. It is close to the junction of Toorak and St Kilda Rd along the 58 tram route from South Yarra station. Nearby landmarks include Fawkner Park to the east, Albert Park Golf Course and Mac.Robertson Girls’ High School on the south-west. The Shrine of Remberence and Anzac Train Station are a 5 minute walk down St Kilda Rd to the north.
